It’s regular culture to diss or bad-mouth a person who’s just part ways with you on a sad, embarrassing or hurtful note, someone who’s wounded you, used you, played you or owes you an apology, or maybe you’re not even the victim but you’re the bad guy and you just want to further inflict pain on your prey by vilifying them, because you’re sure they deserve it…
But I’m all for silence and reflection when it comes to this.
Let things breathe.
What’s going on in your mind?
What’s going on in their minds?
Can I see things from your perspective?
Will I need to apologise later after I asperse you?
Is the world big enough to accommodate us both so that after I write or speak to defame you, I never get to see you again or owe you an apology?
Is it worth it?
Can we just be silent, and reflect, and not wish evil but say “Father forgive them for they know not what they do?”
- Act a fool, don’t do something crazy, act a fool, be mature, seek wisdom, follow peace, even though it’s going the unpopular way…slow to speak, slow to wrath, more love♥…and a warmer hug tomorrow, if we meet again.
